E1M8: Orion Outpost is the eighth and last level of Fava Beans, designed by Sean Birkel. It features two barons of Hell which serve as bosses. The level is short, especially if the player came from the previous levels with at least with a rocket launcher. The level takes less than a minute to complete on average.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

There are no keys on this map. If you came from the previous level with a rocket launcher, use the rockets against the barons; otherwise, if playing from a pistol start, collect the shotgun. Enter a door leading to the nukage room. Do not fall into the pool, as there is no way to escape. Collect all of the ammo for the shotgun in this room. After that, enter any of the doors at the end of the room.

Drop down to the next room. A wall ahead will lower, and the two barons will appear. First, if you think you have insufficient ammo, collect all the ammo in this room. You can get one more shotgun to increase your shells. Eliminate the barons.

When both are dead, the walls will lower (as on E1M8: Phobos Anomaly), revealing the rest of the level. Drop down to the outside. To finish the level, enter a pyramid-like portal.

Non-official[edit]

  • Deathmatch only: If it came to you to start upon one of the two borders in the nukage room while playing a deathmatch session, go forward until you take a chaingun and set against a wall, turn left and open a wall behind which is a hidden room with rocket launcher and boxes of rockets.
