MAP19: 200 Mega Hurts is the nineteenth map of Going Down. It was designed by Cyriak Harris (mouldy), who also composed the music track, "Attack of the Spider-Clowns."

Walkthrough[edit]

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

This map plays differently in regards to your skill level. The only monsters appearing on Hurt Me Plenty or higher will be arch-viles, predominantly in the tan area and in the starting area, and pain elementals, predominantly in the metal area. Players playing the map on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower will only be able to reach the tan area; they will not normally be able to reach the metal area without resorting to cheats. In addition, only revenants will be present on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the southeast corner of the arch-vile-infested area, press on the most damaged wall to reveal a passage leading upwards. (sector 1611)
  2. Next to Secret #1 and in the brown sludge, press on the plain wall to find a lift leading up to energy cell packs. (sector 624)
  3. Keep going west from Secret #2 and then north to find more energy cell packs on the west side of the area. (sector 1546)
  4. Keep going north from Secret #3, then east, lowering the wall ahead (alternatively, enter the room with the pipes, and press on the one with green squares, or at the northeast corner of the area, press on the wall that does not have a symbol). The next area has lots of energy cells and health bonuses, plus teleporters to the other areas of the map. (sector 667)
  5. At the hall with health bonuses next to Secret #4, find the most damaged wall and press on it to reveal some steps leading up. Go around to find an invulnerability. (sector 86)
  6. At the southeast corner of the pain elemental-infested metal area, press on the wall with pipes on it to find a lift leading up to a megaarmor. (sector 309)
  7. In the northeast corner of the metal area, press on the satyr switch (or in the northwest room with four pipes on north wall, press on the pipe that looks different) to reveal a passage. A computer area map will be here (only on Ultra-Violence or higher) and there will also be teleports to the other areas of the map as well. (sector 271)
  8. In Secret #7, find the wall with the electricity symbol on it and use it to find stairs leading up. Head around to find a health bonus. (sector 726)

Bugs[edit]

If you are playing on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower, you will not be able to reach the metal area. Since three of the level's secrets are in the metal area, only 62% of secrets is possible on those skill settings.

The destroyed version of MAP18 that holds the exit elevator has missing damage effects on some of the magma floors, those being sectors 1234, 1336, 1618, and the destroyed teleport pad area to the west with nine contiguous non-damaging magma sectors.
