A more comprehensive version of the "items needing attention" section on Entryway.  Listed here because I might not have time to do any of them like ever.  :>   Some projects may overlap, e.g. an article with no inbound links is probably also uncategorized and in the cleanup or stub list.

Whenever you examine a large number of pages, you will see some that do not belong on the wiki.  Don't be shy about nominating a few for deletion.  If we want to keep vanity editing, spam, and plagiarism under control, we all have to help.

Small tasks

Minimal knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Fix double redirects
• Fix broken redirects

Average knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Add your opinion to deletion discussions
• Add your opinion to discussions on article merging
• Categorize uploaded files (or just check the newest)
• Categorize articles (or just check the newest)
• [Requires Reviewer or Editor permission]  Check new edits to previously reviewed pages
• [Administrators only]  Adjudicate deletion discussions and delete pages if called for

Thorough knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Create missing categories
• Evaluate empty categories
• Categorize templates
• Categorize categories
• Evaluate unused images
• Decide whether talk pages of recently deleted articles should be archived
• [Administrators only]  Search for indefinite protections imposed years ago [1], and unprotect (or at least float the question) if circumstances could reasonably have changed.

Medium-sized tasks

• Change inbound links to disambiguation pages
• Add DEFAULTSORT calls to articles whose titles begin with "A"/"An"/"The"
• File info pages for LMPs should include durations
• Replace screenshots with nonstandard aspect ratios
• Investigate disputed statements of fact

Average knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Clean up disorganized or non-encyclopedic articles
• Expand stubs
• Close merge discussions and perform the necessary cleanup
• Create redlinked articles
• Clean up pages with no outbound wikilinks
• Evaluate pages with no inbound wikilinks
• Examine pages that haven't been edited in a really, really long time

Thorough knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Fact-check pages in Category:Doom Wiki
• Search for "wiki" on dwforums (Doom General and Doom Editing); seek out obscure bugs, article ideas, or site misinformation

Huge tasks

• Expand gameplay content (enemies, items, weapons) for a commercial game that currently lacks it (e.g. Doom 3, Doom II RPG, Hacx)
• Create a complete set of tutorials on Doom-engine editing
• Create a complete set of tutorials on deathmatch play
• Find references for poorly sourced articles

Average knowledge of wiki structure and goals

• Complete articles, including walkthroughs and statistics, for all stock maps
• Complete articles, including walkthroughs and statistics, for all Top 100 maps
• Complete articles, including walkthroughs and statistics, for all Cacoward winners
• Investigate indeterminate image copyrights
