Phobia

From DoomWiki.org

Phobia and Phobia - The Age are a collection of projects by Kristian Käll (Kristus) for Doom Legacy in 2001 and in 2006 as a reaction to Marc Pullen's music album "Limits". Phobia's first release received wide acclaim from the community and was included in Doomworld's Top 100 WADs of All Time.

The original 2001 release - Phobia - was a single map. However, Kristus later expanded the project and released a full eight level episode in 2006 as Phobia - The Age. This second release in turn won a 2006 Cacoward.

Detailed history[edit]

Phobia's 2001 release was to be followed by at least one single level sequel. Eventually, Kristus scrapped this idea and moved on to work on levels for other games.

In the summer of 2004 Kristus released all the resources of Phobia for anyone to use. Due to community interest in the resources, he was inspired to work on a sequel a few months later. The original Phobia level was included, albeit sectioned into three distinct areas. As work progressed, Kristus decided to create several new levels, with eight maps total in the final version. These include two maps serving as an intro and an outro for the episode.

In the 2006 release, the music was performed by Marc Pullen (Fanatic), along with voice acting by Mike Lightner (Mancubus II).
