Map articles[edit]

Jenesis is the next WAD on my list of map articles, but I see that with the three different versions, some maps were removed and replaced with new ones. If I remember rightly, Part 1 and Part 2 were deleted from the idgames archive, and indeed, there is only one link on the page. So should the map articles just be those of Part 3? Or should a similar direction to Alien Vendetta MAP25: Valley of Echoes be taken? --Eris Falling 19:12, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Between the first two versions of Jenesis, there are only two maps missing, I believe. They are boss shooter levels, "Putrid Cathedral" for JENESIS1 (MAP11) and "Guardian" for JENESIS2 (MAP20). Jimmy lists this erroneously on the Jenesis page as "Nexus" but it's "Guardian" in both the automap and title card. Personally, I'm not sure which direction I'd take. I don't think Jimmy axed the levels for being low-quality but because he wanted a finale unique to each episode. Plus he reuses some of the ideas from "Putrid Cathedral" for "The Vulcanum". Maybe these levels should be added to the Jenesis template, kind of like Memento Mori II's "top secret" levels or Eternal Doom's bonus maps. --KMX E XII 02:46, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Custom things mapping[edit]

The adequately documented DeHackEd lump in the WAD allowed to compile the following custom things mapping file for DMMPST (TSV format):

# class	thingID	wikiname	wikilink
0	84	Mutant	Jenesis#Custom monsters
0	72	MAP30 Boss	Jenesis#Custom monsters
0	88	Baphomet Core	Jenesis#Custom monsters

Please let me know any improvements/corrections. And here's how you can help with mapping files for other WADs. --Xymph (talk) 07:00, 13 July 2018 (CDT)
