Template talk:AtomicGamer

From DoomWiki.org

Resolution[edit]

Files that existed on AtomicGamer and were Doom-relevant have been backed up to a new location on Doomworld. Someone needs to work out where the files ended up and replace links to them appropriately. --Quasar (talk) 15:19, 6 October 2015 (CDT)

Nominated by Quasar. I agree; with all the AtomicGamer links replaced and all the Doomworld AtomicGamer content backed up in a folder on Doomworld itself, it's unlikely that this template will ever be used again. Delete. The Green Herring(talk) 21:00, 6 October 2015 (CDT)

Should be uncontroversial; Delete obviously for me. Maybe wait for Ryan W to chime in since he was a contributor (I don't suspect Janizdreg will come out of hibernation). --Quasar (talk) 21:02, 6 October 2015 (CDT)

Also delete {{3ddownloads}} which redirects to this template. --Gez (talk) 03:18, 7 October 2015 (CDT)
Right, though that becomes subject to speedy deletion as soon as this is gone which is why I didn't bring it up. We didn't have a speedy delete clause for "formerly useful but now useless template" so I nominated it instead. Policy oversight maybe? --Quasar (talk) 07:35, 7 October 2015 (CDT)
IMHO that's too much of a judgement call for speedy, in the general case of all templates.  We've seen certain templates wax and wane in volume as some style convention settles down.  Heck, it's not always obvious when a link outage is permanent (doom2.net, /incoming).    Ryan W (talk) 17:50, 7 October 2015 (CDT)
Yeah I might be apt to agree; not a big deal. --Quasar (talk) 19:11, 7 October 2015 (CDT)

Delete per Herring's reasoning.  The template is now unused, and honestly that site has been unnavigable for years due to scripting, ads, redirections, etc., so we should be supporting a less obnoxious alternative if possible.    Ryan W (talk) 16:52, 7 October 2015 (CDT)

Further deletion[edit]

I am deleting also {{ag}}, {{ag2}}, and {{3dd}}. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gez (talkcontribs) .
