1 Monster (called 1 Monster Megawad in its text file) is a megawad released on October 24, 2007, featuring 25 maps created by 15 Doomworld community members. It requires a Boom-compatible source port to play. As the name would implyimplies, each map contains just one type of monster.A bug-fixed version was also released on October 29, but never uploaded to the /idgames archive. It is available on the Doomed Speed Demos Archive, with later additional fixes by Andy Olivera.
The development of the project occurred entirely within was conceived by one Zin, who started the original Doomworld forums thread] started by Dr. Zin on December 27, 2005. While originally planned as "a megawad for 2006" with 32 maps, development turned out to be more slow slower than expected. The project leaders, in order, were Doomworld forum users -_DLD_-, sausage, and Philip Brown (Liberation). A fixed version was released on October 28, but never uploaded to the /idgames archive. It is available in the 1monster.zip file available on the Doomed Speed Demos Archive page.

:† There are two D_SHAWN lumps. The first is the theme from "Lunar Military Base" level from Descent (video game)|Descent}}, however since Doom searches for lumps from the last, it is the second D_SHAWN lump, with a version of the original Doom II track, which is actually played.
:‡ MAP11 contains a FraggleScript "level info" header which sets the level to use D_DOOM for its soundtrack instead of the usual D_STLKS2.
