32in24-9: Return of DUEL CORE is the ninth edition of the 32in24 series of PWADs. It was the first session to be held in almost a year, with the series now dropping back to one WAD per year - allowing the WAD number to match the year of release.

The session, which was held on 20 December, 2009, was a follow-up to 32in24-3, and so the maps were designed for 1-on-1 duels, a form of deathmatch. The maps were created using the original approach of having everything completed by the end of the 24 hour period, and in total, 45 maps were submitted, all of which were included in the final WAD - compiled and uploaded to the /idgames archive by Eric Baker (The Green Herring) on 25 December, 2009. It received a more mixed response than other entries in the series.
