@doom_txt is a Twitter account that posted humorous content related to Doom. The name refers to the fact that it originated as a .txt novelty account posting amusing quotes from discussions within the Doom community. The account expanded to posting a wider range of humorous content. It was declared as having been retired on December 15, 2022, in the wake of the site's take-over by extremist billionaire Elon Musk and the subsequent suspension of the accounts of various journalists, activists, open-source social media organizations, and others.[1]
As of September 2017 the account had over 5,000 followers.
The owner or owners of the account choose to remain anonymous.
