Altar of Evil is a single-level PWAD for Doom II using the ZDoom source port. It was designed by Ronald Lubbelinkhof (Dutch Devil) and uses the music track "Suspense," originally composed by Robert Prince for Doom.

Altar of Evil was acknowledged as a runner-up during the 2005 Cacowards ceremony.

Monsters

The level includes eight new enemies, which are defined in a DECORATE lump with new thing types and do not replace vanilla monsters.

A variant of the imp (type 3123)
Slime imp
Another imp variant (type 3124)
Flamedemon
A dark grey demon (type 3128)
Nightmare spectre
A blue variant of the spectre (type 3127)
Cacolord
A stronger cacodemon (type 3125)
Ashwraith
A dark grey baron of Hell (type 3126)
Lost spirit
A lost soul variant (type 3130)
Spiritmaster
A variant of the pain elemental (type 3129)

Sprites for existing monsters like the demon, Hell knight, baron of Hell and mancubus have also been modified.
