The BFG-9000 returns as a [[weapon]] in [[Doom Eternal|Doom Eternal,]] looking similar to its previous appearance but with more exposed parts. In this incarnation, it shares some similarities to its previous design, but it lost it's red coloring on the top. It is seen in Battlemode as a special weapon the Slayer can use against the player-controlled demons, so far, we haven't seen what the projectile would look like, or if it would have any new and special abilities.
