Doom (2016) multiplayer levels
Boneyard

Boneyard is a multiplayer level of Doom (2016), first made available in the Bloodfall downloadable content pack. It is a battleground in the outer reaches of Hell where the environment is composed wholly of demonic flesh and bone. Egg sacs can be found seemingly growing from the flesh which contain larval Hell guard parasites. Many of the mouth-like entryways are lined with teeth. A giant demonic heart can also be shot and will respond by beating violently for a short time. The map is remarkable for its otherworldly atmosphere, featuring bold purple, pink, green, and blue colors. The cloud-filled sky is punctuated by twin orbs which appear similar to a black sun.

Analysis

Boneyard is largely composed of interconnected networks of narrow passageways. Some areas of the level, particularly near the center, are filled with hazardous green slime which burns the player, and such slime that occurs outside the bounds of the intended play area is instantly fatal to touch. Launchers are available which can allow traversing over deeper areas of the level, and several teleporters exist that allow moving from one side of the map to the other quickly.

The many narrow corridors are particularly suited to use of the kinetic mine; there are many places where it can be placed without being visible in advance to oncoming players and, once triggered, it may be nearly impossible to avoid.

In most game modes, the BFG-9000 occurs as a power weapon on this map, and a demon rune is present.
