Both this cat and Category:James Collins (an mutt) levels were tagged for speedy delete. I deleted the latter because it existed for mere hours before being renamed again, but held off on this one. It meets the delete criterium, but existed for more than year so I wasn't sure. If there are no objections, I can delete it too. --Xymph (talk) 11:55, 4 July 2018 (CDT)

Fair question.  The usual argument is that inbound external links accumulate over time, so deleting the target hurts SEO.  For non-mainspace pages, though, I can't believe it happens often enough to care about.  If we wanted to be very pedantic, we could start maintaining such redirects for every mapper as we do for bio articles (currently there are only a few), but so far no one's launched into that.  :>    Ryan W (living fossil) 05:38, 16 July 2018 (CDT)
I don't think becoming that pedantic is a wise use of anyone's time, or at least not of mine. ;) But the examples you refer to (I found just two more) have similar histories of existing for quite a while before being redirected. So I guess An_mutt can follow suit. --Xymph (talk) 05:59, 19 July 2018 (CDT)
