Doom, Heretic, Hexen, and Strife contain various cheat codes, which are activated by typing the correct series of letters in-game. Some codes appear in virtually all versions of the game, while others are specific to a particular family of source ports. Certain source ports also support the activation of cheat codes via a console. The codes were added to the game by Dave Taylor.
