City of Doom is a Doom II episode mod consisting of eleven levels, created by Paul Maurone (Nowotny). As the name indicates, most of the levels are set in urban environments, and while they are somewhat thematically similar to the cityscapes seen in Doom II, a great amount of new textures help them stand out and create a wide variety of different environments. The first 11 maps were released in 2000 in what was dubbed "Part 1" of City of Doom, with the author promising new and updated maps for ZDoom to bring the total to 32, but since the release of this version no more has been heard from it: all that remains of the planned maps is some future map titles found in the .WAD.
