'''Doom 2 the Way id Did''' is a 2013 [[megawad]] for [[Doom II]] containing thirty-three new levels designed to mimic the mapping style of [[Sandy Petersen]], [[John Romero]] and [[American McGee]] (plus a 33rd level as an Easter egg spoofing [[MAP33: Betray (Xbox Doom II)| Betray]]). The project was a continuation of [[Doom the Way id Did]]. Instead of being themed after ''[[Wolfenstein 3D]]'', the two secret levels are themed after {{wp|Commander Keen}}. All levels are [[vanilla]]-compatible, except for [[MAP33: Hexsoil (Doom 2 the Way id Did)|MAP33: Hexsoil]], which requires a [[limit removing]] [[source port]]. The map set received one of the 2013 [[Cacowards]].

MAP31 uses "[[vgmpf:Spiro Grip Me Tighter|Make It Tighter]]" from ''Commander Keen V: The Armageddon Machine'' and MAP32 uses "[[vgmpf:You've Got to Eat Your Vegetables!!|You've Got to Eat Your Vegetables!!]]" from ''Commander Keen IV: Secret of the Oracle'', both by [[Robert Prince]]. Finally, MAP33 uses "Read Me While Listening to This".
