Doom II Remake for the Unreal Engine 4 was an effort to create an unofficial remake of Doom II by Eyal Medina. While promising progress was made with an authentic recreation of MAP01: Entryway and modeling for the player and various weapons, the project was repurposed on June 5, 2015, after a request from Bethesda to discontinue the project. While unable to continue with a Doom-based theme, the mod will be renamed "OldSchool Nightmare," and will aim to create a similar experience without infringing on intellectual property rights.
