: I am going to suggest that the normal featured article be skipped for this month, as not one but two Doom titles are releasing. I think we could special-feature Doom Eternal for half the month, and Doom 64 for the other half. This would be a special event that doesn't count on the listing of featured articles, as with previous such events. --Quasar (talk) 05:13, 23 February 2020 (CST)

: There is indeed precedent for special events.  In this case some Doomers might feel trolled if we feature something else, so grand is the anticipation.  :D   Cross fingers that more people try submitting wiki content after the newness fades, vs 2016.    Ryan W (living fossil) 10:05, 23 February 2020 (CST)

These articles have already been selected as featured articles. It is desirable that a new nominee is not one of these.

2020-01

Since I don't have any better ideas, continuing the 25th anniversary theme could be a suitable moment to feature The Lost Episodes of Doom next month. --Xymph (talk) 02:30, 21 December 2019 (CST)

2020-02

With no obvious 25th anniversaries ;) next month, and no real inspiration on my end either, I just picked a few tools that could possibly be featured: Doom II screen saver, Fuzzy Pumper Palette Shop, DeathManager!, Doom/Master, or The King Doom Experience. Preferences, anyone? Or a very different nomination? --Xymph (talk) 16:10, 27 January 2020 (CST)

(I really should read before i post, apologies.) I would suggest adding some things that coincide with DOOM Eternal's release, like the recent ports of Doom Classic to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Recent mappacks that have come by such as Eviternity. Linguortals and Mikoportals. QZDoom Lastly, perhaps have id Mom Donna Jackson be featured? Just some ideas of inspiration. -- Redneckerz (talk)
Doom II screen saver and Doom/Master are a couple of my fav articles that I've worked on so I'd throw votes at those. Which ever gets the most otherwise gets mine. --Quasar (talk) 14:05, 28 January 2020 (CST)
Doom/Master would be my first choice of all these.  It seems educational to point out items considered important accessories in their period, whereas current Doomers would say, "THAT was somehow useful?"  Early DM lobbies, early editors, and arguably screensavers are thus described.  HTH / KUTGW.  Ryan W (living fossil) 21:15, 30 January 2020 (CST)

2020-03

For next month, Linguortal (suggested above) could be featured. It also the 10th anniversary of UAC Ultra's release, which has a decent overview page and of which all map articles are reasonably complete too. Or perhaps something different entirely?
Some other suggestions by Redneckerz above are still too stubby and/or don't have the image needed for the featured corner. --Xymph (talk) 16:09, 21 February 2020 (CST)

I am going to suggest that the normal featured article be skipped for this month, as not one but two Doom titles are releasing. I think we could special-feature Doom Eternal for half the month, and Doom 64 for the other half. This would be a special event that doesn't count on the listing of featured articles, as with previous such events. --Quasar (talk) 05:13, 23 February 2020 (CST)
