The Doom engine refers to the core sections of the Doom source code. The phrase may at times refer to the Doom rendering engine; however, the rendering engine is only a part of the overall engine.
The Doom engine has been used for several commercial games:
- Amulets & Armor (1997)
- Chex Quest (1996)
- Chex Quest 2 (1997)
- HacX (1997)
- Heretic (1994)
- Shadow of the Serpent Riders
- Hexen: Beyond Heretic (1995)
- Strife - Quest for the Sigil (1996)
