E1M1 is the first map of Ye Olde Smudge Wad. It was designed by Christen Klie.

Secrets

  1. The switch that opens up the room with the switch that opens up access to the exit also opens a nearby door to a staircase. Go straight ahead down the stairs - on the eastern wall is a section which lowers on pressing, revealing a room with a Dragon Claw, four piles of mace spheres, some monsters, and some Wings of Wrath. (sector 125)
  2. Return to the switch which opens up access to the access, and fly up using the aforementioned Wings of Wrath. You will reach a sector with a Disciple of D'Sparil, a switch, and possibly a firemace. Note that it is necessary to step on the floor of this sector to receive credit for the secret. (sector 99)
  3. The switch in #2 opens up a door in the area behind #1, leading to a Disciple of D'Sparil, three bags of holding, six timebombs of the ancients, four Quartz Flasks, and two shadowspheres.(sector 134)
