E1M3: The Morgues is the third map of Sacrifice. It was designed by Ty Halderman and Robert Taylor.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


Other points of interest[edit]


  1. The wall behind the start is a secret door, leading to a shotgun, two clips, and twelve shotgun shells. (sector 7)
  2. After going through the door ahead of you at the start, walk to the south-west of the room. A section of the console in the south-east of this room will briefly lower, allowing you to walk along the console. (sector 14)
  3. The southern wall at the western end of the aforementioned console opens on pressing, revealing a soul sphere. (sector 46)
  4. The eastern wall of #3 opens on pressing, revealing a computer map. (sector 119)
  5. West of the blue key area are some images of bodies hanging on the wall. One of these (in the north-west) has his arms spread out a lot more than the others. This marks a secret door, leading via a lift and several monsters, to a chaingun, a backpack, and a yellow key. There is also an armor here in multiplayer. (sector 101)
  6. Sector 42 has 0 sidedefs, so does not exist, meaning that the maximum achievable secret percentage is 87%. (sector 42)
  7. Towards the end of the long metallic hallway is a trigger line that opens a door behind you. The wall south of this trigger line is a secret door leading to a rocket launcher (two in multiplayer), and six boxes of rockets. (sector 108)
  8. After dropping down into the southern area with the rising and falling circular lifts, continue walking directly west. A walkway will rise, at the end of which is a yellow door, leading to a plasma rifle, three energy cells, and a teleporter. This takes you to an octagonal area. There is a trigger to raise and lower part of the barrier in the south of the outer path (near the barrier itself), allowing access to the water area. Each layer of the octagonal pyramid can be lowered by pressing a specific side - in the middle is the secret exit. (sector 17)
