E1M4: Abandoned Factory is the fourth map of the 1994 Ways To Die episode of No End In Sight. It was designed by Emil Brundage (NaturalTvventy).

WalkthroughEdit

EssentialsEdit

Head forward to a large open room then turn right and head through the south doorway to a ledge with two zombiemen. Walk off the ledge to the floor below then turn right and head towards a lift which will lower as you approach; ignore it and instead turn left into a room with three demons then head forward into a square room with several monsters. As you enter the room four gray platforms will lower; once they have reached the floor, step on the east platform and wait until it rises back to its starting position then head forward and turn left at a T-junction to enter a passage leading to a hole. Drop down the hole to land on a large cross-shaped walkway overlooked by imps.

Go to the south side of the walkway to find a switch and press it to open a wall on the east side, revealing three or four demons. Step through this wall and head forward to a large gray room then head through either of the east doorways to a brightly-lit hallway with imps and zombies at either end. Head north-east until you climb some steps to a small room with a walkway over nukage and go through the north doorway, ready to kill some monsters that are released from a closet ahead. Keep going north until you see a doorway on your left and go through it to a second room full of nukage as well as several platforms guarded by imps. Step across the platforms to the south side of the room to find a switch and press it, which will build a set of stairs that you can see through the window.

Kill the enemies that have been released into the area then return to the first nukage room and go through the west doorway to climb the stairs you raised earlier. Turn right at the T-junction ahead and follow the passage to another gray room then climb the stairs on your right (which have blinking lights) to the top. Turn right to go through the exit door and press the switch behind it to finish the level.

Other points of interestEdit

As the level starts you can see a window ahead with a shotgun. From the large open room near the start, go through the doorways either side of the window to find a lift that you can use to reach the weapon; when you step over the wall to get back to ground level you will open two alcoves containing imps.

In the room with rising and lowering platforms, step on the north or west platforms and wait for them to rise to the top. Follow either passage until you see a doorway in the wall - there are several monsters through this doorway guarding a chaingun.

SecretsEdit

  1. South of the big open room, you can see two imps guarding two medikits across the pit. You can make a bridge going across this pit, but in order to do so, you will have to make a jump south-east to a room with health bonuses. The switch in this room raises the bridge, and a wall to the right can be opened allowing you to head back. (sector 73)
  2. The wall in the south-east corner of secret #1 can be opened. Imps in this room guard a megaarmor. (sector 167)
  3. The room in the south-west part of the map has rising and lowering platforms; entering the room makes the platforms lower. When the lifts reach the bottom, enter either the north or west lifts; as you do, they will rise again. Run as fast as you can to the north-west and through the opening before you miss it to reach a secret room with a light amplification visor along with other supplies. The switch in this room lowers the lifts again, but you can also access a hidden teleporter which takes you back to the starting point. (sector 136)
  4. In the room with rising and lowering platforms, step on either the south or east lifts, making sure to step on them while they are lowering and not when they have reached the bottom. Head for the south-east part of the corridor, and there should be an opening. Follow the trail of health bonuses to reach a partial invisibility. (sector 143)
  5. From secret #4, jump so that you land onto the brown railing. If you miss it, you can jump back down and use the lift to try again. Once you land on the railing, follow it to the rocket launcher and rockets on the lower platform. (sector 77)
  6. Press the switch at the south end of the four-way intersection at the southern part of the level, which will open the wall to the east. A wall at the north end of this hallway has two silver bars around it. Open it and follow the passage to find some ammo in the trench. (sector 178)
  7. On the east side of the level is a nukage hallway with radiation signs. Follow it to two medikits and a backpack. (sector 231)
  8. In the room just before the exit door, open the wall to the north-west to reach an outdoor area where you can find a computer area map. (sector 266)
