E1M6: Fortress of Hate is the sixth map of Dawn of the Dead. It was designed by Jan Van der Veken and uses the music track "Demons on the Prey," composed for Doom by Robert Prince.

Walkthrough[edit]
Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets[edit]
- Outside of the fortress, get to the energy cell and drop into the nukage northwest from there. Open the wall with slime on it to get a plasma gun. (sector 374)
- Inside the innermost fortress, climb the steps and head for the southeast corner. Use the switch, then go to the southwest corner to find ammo clips and a backpack. (sector 63)
- Open the red door and take the left set of steps. Shoot the satyr face and go through the passage to find a teleporter leading to a megaarmor. (sector 260)
Bugs[edit]
The blue key is not present on Hey Not Too Rough or lower. The key is required to remove the bars blocking the entrance of the fortress, where the switch for the bars is behind blue key doors.
