E1M9: Transmitter is the ninth and secret map of URE2020: Unexpected Retro Experience. It was designed by Zylinderkatze and uses one of the following music tracks: "The Demons from Adrian's Pen" by Robert Prince (base WAD), untitled track by Amaury Laurent Bernier (when loading base WAD with URE2020A.WAD) or "Paradise Syndrome" by Nathan Maxx (Lippeth) (when loading base WAD with URE2020L.WAD).

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the first outside area, use the lift south of the entrance, then lower the west wall, then the south wall to get a backpack. (sector 162)
  2. At the northeast ledge in the first outside area, look towards the east corner and shoot it, then head west to get a chainsaw. (sector 1389)
  3. Head south on the northeast ledge and around the small room to a light amplification visor. (sector 1477)
  4. In the nukage tunnels, head to the north end, then east to a dead end. Open the south wall and head down, then use a lift to get a stimpack. (sector 895)
  5. In the area with multiple paths, take the second one from the south and maneuver until you get to a switch. After flipping it, head north, then west and south, where the floor rises. Jump south and head west, where bars will block you from getting a plasma gun. Flip the switch to lower it. Head south of this area to the nukage tunnels, then go west and north, climbing the steps and using the switch. When the lifts are moving, head to the middle and jump to the plasma gun. (sector 321)
  6. In the red key area, you have three switches to press. On the east ledge, pressing this switch will open a wall at the bottom floor in the northeast corner with another switch. You need to quickly press that switch as well as the east switch, then get onto the west lift and through the opening before it closes. Press the switch there to ride up to a soul sphere. (sector 641)
  7. After getting the red key, go back to the door after the crusher and go up until you are on the northwest ledge in the second outdoor area. Jump south and open the door. Use two switches and enter a corridor which leads to a lift with a megaarmor. (sector 1728)
  8. In the halls west of the circular area, go to the middle and use a terminal to the west. Quickly get on the north lift, lower it, and hug the north wall to head through before it closes. Follow the cave to get an invulnerability. (sector 104)
  9. In the outside area south of the circular area, head to the tree in the middle of the rocks and head northwest to a switch. Flip it, climb back up, and jump north to get a plasma gun. (sector 2159)
  10. Head northeast from Secret #9 to the armor bonus. Flip the switch there to get a megaarmor. (sector 2479)

Bugs[edit]

Six armor bonuses (Things 1024 through 1026 and 1029 through 1031) and a multiplayer-only shotgun (1214) have no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so they do not actually appear in the level.
