E3M5: De-Moon Side is the fifth map in episode The Evil Unleashed of 2002 A Doom Odyssey. It was designed by Vick Bobkov (Virgil the Doom Poet) and uses the music track "Moonrise" by Paul Corfiatis. In the 10th anniversary edition it was moved to E4M9: De-Moon Side as the ninth and secret map in the Torment Ultima episode, and received a couple of minor geometry changes and one extra teleport landing. In this version of the level the music track is either "Moonrise" (ZDoom-only) or "Dance of the Trooper," both by Paul Corfiatis.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Head into the building southeast of the starting point, then use the green banner near the organic wall. This will open the fireplace to the east with a mystery box. Touching the mystery box will actually reward you with two berserk packs and a soul sphere. (sector 47)
  2. Use the switch in that same building, then go to the northwesternmost building and use the satyr switch there. Backtrack to the south building and use the eye switch, then backtrack again to the northwest building. To the right of the skull switch (north), press on the flesh wall with red lines around it to open the southeast corner where three boxes of rockets are. (sector 99)
  3. After you get the blue key, return to the main room behind the red door and use the lift. Ride it up and open the blue door, Use the skull switch behind the pentagram block to lower a bar leading to a bridge, then walk to the end of this bridge. Look at the two skull markings here and notice the one on your right is misaligned. Shoot at this side of the skull and an alcove will open on the ground floor. Inside this alcove, you will find a box of rockets. (sector 210)
  4. In the exit room, look towards the western wall. Underneath the "right arm" of the humanoid closer to the exit, press on the wall that looks a little more rusted than the ones around it, which will trigger a lift where you teleported from. Drop down and collect the energy cell packs. Remember that the lift will open only once. (sector 185)
