extramap.wad "finished" is a version of extramap.wad which was released by coltonrawr in July 2019. A v1.1 update for his version was released in August 2019 which addressed the remaining bugs and truly finished the map.

Landmarks

The demonic altar area was rebalanced in the "finished" map (especially in v1.1) to make it possible to complete the map from a pistol start, most notably replacing the barons of Hell with easier monsters.

Secrets

  1. Jump into the green pit in the east to find an energy cell pack at the end of the northern alcove. (sector 37)

Bugs fixed

  • The "finished" map works around missing textures by texturing the surfaces with textures that match the surrounding area(s) starting in v1.0, which was further refined in v1.1.
  • Open sectors, were partially fixed in the "finished" map v1.0, and fixed fully for v1.1.
  • The "finished" map makes the portion of E2M5 accessible by adding a teleporter to the area in v1.0, which was optimized in v1.1 to be bidirectional.
  • Stuck things are moved out of the walls starting in v1.0.
  • The open-sector door was remade as an exit area in v1.0, and got an exit door in v1.1.
  • The non-functional teleporter designed to escape the nukage pit was addressed in the "finished" map by moving the teleporter's destination to beside the other teleporter destination(s), depending on which version is played.
  • The hallway designed to raise to allow for easy access to the plasma rifle was fixed in the "finished" map's v1.1, however, the exit switch in v1.0 erroneously has the tag set for this hallway too.
