Unlike Wikipedia, we haven't had any legal advice on this, so I'm just guessing here.

I'd say that if you want to release it freely, it's enough to just change the tag yourself (while logged in) to one of the free ones, {{GFDL}} or {{PD-Self}}.  The description page already notes that you are the author, so the intent will be clear, hopefully.    Ryan W 06:34, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
