The heavy assault rifle is a new weapon found in the 2016 Doom game. Its role as a high rate of fire, conventional bullet-based weapon is shared with the chaingun, but its versatility is exposed through a number of modifications available for it. The UAC considers the weapon to be superseded by the plasma rifle, but recognizes its familiarity, accuracy, and dependability as justification for its continued widespread use by employees. It normally fires .50 caliber FMJ round ammunition.

Modifications

Micro Missiles
The micro missile mod provides a dramatic temporary power increase, allowing the firing of up to six explosive HMX missiles which detonate on impact. The pack of missiles attaches to the left side of the rifle, which has a port accepting the ammo pack.
Tactical Scope
The tactical scope is a telescopic sight allowing multiple levels of zoom with parallax compensation and gimbal-mounted recoil stabilization. It has a part designation of UAC-TS3. It transforms the already highly accurate heavy assault rifle into a sniper rifle.

Mastery - Bottomless Missiles
Unlocked by killing four enemies within five seconds. Missiles can be continuously fired without a reload.
