Interception is a vanilla-compatible 32-level megawad for Doom II released in 2013. The project started as two maps by Matt534Dog intended to be submitted to TNT 2: Devilution, though this submission never happened. Work began on creating a megawad following the rejection of maps by Matt534 submitted to Doom the Way id Did (which later became E4M7 and E6M4 of Doom the Way id Did: The Lost Episodes). He was soon joined by numerous mappers, including Callum Guy Oliver (phobosdeimos1), who passed away before the WAD was released. Interception also features a completely new soundtrack, composed by XenoNemesis and Stuart Rynn (stewboy).
Interception was uploaded to the idgames archive on 16 January, 2013. It was named as a runner up at the 20th Annual Cacowards. A sequel, titled "Interception: Part II," was started, but development soon stalled.

Soundtrack
Most of the soundtrack was created by XenoNemisis, with stewboy contributing only the songs for maps 10, 14, 17, 24, and 31. They have no known title, except the MAP14 song, which is also featured in Back to Saturn X as "Birdsong", the theme for MAP18 of Episode 2.
