International Doom is a set of bilingual, limit-removing source ports, aimed for graphical enhancements and gameplay features, with preserving overall vanilla feeling. Initially it was started in 2016 as translation-only project, but further development was inspired by Crispy Doom and Doom Retro source ports (and continued with extensive support from their authors - Fabian Greffrath and Brad Harding). The project contains many efforts and bits of code from people around the world, which is why it is actually international.

Language selection between English and Russian is available in the game options menu.

International Doom was previously known as "Russian Doom", but was renamed in response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.[1]

Supported games

The following games are supported:

Press Beta is available by command line parameter “-beta”, Atari Jaguar is available by command line parameter “-jaguar”, additional downloads are not required.

Gameplay enhancements

International Doom offers many different visual enhancements like colored blood, transparency, mouse look and brightmaps. All of them can be toggled in Gameplay options menu.

Most of features are available for Doom, many features are available for Heretic, and just few are available for Hexen.

Besides, there is also available “-vanilla” command line parameter, which will disable all enhancements without any changes in configuration file, making the game visual appearance as close as possible to original executables.
