Find the crossing point, and if you are playing on [[Hurt Me Plenty]] or any higher skill level, the other side will be guarded by a [[hell knight]]. It is recommended to kill the hell knight before crossing. Once you have crossed, drop down into the hole and walk into the bright portal to exit the level.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials

From the start position, proceed forward and hit the switch, which lowers the metal block it is placed on. Take the second left, making sure to pick up the shotgun. Run across the gap towards the gargoyle switch, and the lava will instantly lower, revealing a new area. Moving forward will trigger a trap in front of you, revealing more of this area. At the top of the steps, among the zombiemen, is a rocket launcher, with some rockets.

Turn right here and run past the pillars, then hit the switch. Three metal poles in the middle of the central area will rise, and monsters will start to teleport in to the large area below. Drop down into this area and run to the far end of the blood pool. Look for the break in the red rock wall, run through it. Turning right will lead to a dead end, so instead turn left. At the end of this path is another rocket launcher, guarded by sergeants. The gap in the wall you came through will now raise, but the dead end at the other end of the path will have cleared. As you head towards it, you will be met by a group of spectres. Clear them then follow the path round to the right.

At the top of the steps, take the first right, then carefully turn right again at the end of the protruding section onto the narrower ledge. Follow the ledge round to hit the switch at the end of it. This will cause more monsters to teleport into the central area below, but now the remaining metal poles will have risen. Go back along the ledge and back into the southern area. Find the crossing point, and if you are playing on Hurt Me Plenty or any higher skill level, the other side will be guarded by a Hell knight. It is recommended to kill the Hell knight before crossing. Once you have crossed, drop down into the hole and walk into the bright portal to exit the level.

Secrets

  1. Sector 1: The bars around the edge off of a protruding rock balcony in the main area will raise when you approach the rocket launcher in the north of the map. Jump down off said balcony onto the platform with the imps and green armor.
  2. Sector 193: In the south-west of the map, when you approach the gargoyle switch across a chasm, the lava will instantly lower when you touch it. Proceed forward to trigger a trap in front of you containing a demon. Pass through the lava fall revealed with it to find multiple health bonuses and armor bonuses stacked on top of each other.
