MAP01: I/O Error is the first map of lilith.pk3. It uses the music track "D_RUNNNN" by Xaser Acheron.

This is designed for the purpose to check the engine (ZDoom is required for every map to play) and to warn the players

Walkthrough

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials

The map is for warning the players about "epileptic" effect done upon them by this mod. Also, as all other maps in the mod, this checks whether the runned engine is ZDoom, and if it is not, it will send you to MAP33 to provide you with a message suggesting you to use proper source port. Otherwise, you stay on this map and read a message left by its author:

Hi. Some people can experience seizures when exposed to flashing lights or other visual stimuli. Even if you've never been diagnosed, please be stop playing this wad if you encounter disorientation, lightheadedness, altered vision, involuntary twitching/jerking movements, or momentary loss of awareness/consciousness.
I tried very hard to avoid anything that would cause physical discomfort but everyone is different
If you understand this: walk through the wall and pull the switch.

Although the notification is somewhat exaggerating, you decide whether to play this mod. The layout of the level is built of a plain rectangle with a square platform where you start standing and a slightly confusing ceiling under the platform and fake black walls around it.

Decisive player have to only push the skull button ahead turning crushing ceiling on. This will hurt you, but you jump to Level 2 with fully recovered health.
