MAP02: The City Streets is the second map of City of Doom. It was designed by Paul Maurone and uses a MIDI rendition of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin as its music track.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Head to the roof of the red brick building west of the start. Open the southwest wall to get a backpack and an energy cell pack. (sector 162)
  2. In the room south of the starting room, which has a big hole, go to the east side and shoot at the south rock column. Head north and flip the switch here. Get on the roof of the red brick building nearby, then take the lift to the higher roof. Jump south to another rooftop, open the west door, then the next door. Shoot at the face to the south. Return to the starting point and if you have the blue key, use it to enter an area with steps leading up. Open the door, head east, and use the teleporter to get a soul sphere. (sector 182)
  3. In the first alley, take the west door and the steps, then the lift afterwards. In the next room, enter the other lift to the north and the room at the end of the corridor. In the next big room, use the switch at the southwest end, then the next one at the north wall. This opens a teleporter to the southwest. Take it to enter a room with boxes of ammo, boxes of shotgun shells, energy cell packs, medikits, a megaarmor, and a berserk pack. This area counts as three secrets. (sector 228)
  4. On the street south of the starting buildings, enter the restaurant at the northeast part of the block. Take the west door and the lift after it, then use the vent that the armor bonuses point to. Return to the restaurant and take the blue teleporter to teleport to a ledge near Secret #3, with a soul sphere and a computer area map. (sector 229)
  5. Open the blue door on the west side and take the lift up. Go behind the fence and use the switch, then return and use the west switch to reveal a teleporter. Take it, turn around, and press this switch. Re-enter the teleporter and you will be in front of a door. Take it, go up the steps, and head north, east, and south, dropping into a hole. Go to the light at the middle column, press on it, then flip both switches to the south. Leave the hole via the lift and head to the north part of the corridor. Open the door and gently head out the northeast window. Land on the ledge below and head south and west to the BFG9000. (sector 320)
  6. In the big building at the south end, take the north lift on the east side, then take the big lift just next to it to a room with crates. Lower the southwest crate and enter the alcove to find a switch. This lowers a teleporter which takes you to a plasma gun. (sector 443)
  7. In the big building at the south end, take the south lift on the east side, and use the computer on the west wall. Head into the room and use the skull switch in the middle. Return to the lobby and take a lift to the west down. Head north and into the teleporter, then southeast and onto a crate with boxes of rockets. (sector 500)
  8. In the big building at the south end, take the north lift on the east side, then go north and open the northernmost door until you can enter the room behind it. Use the south wall that has an electricity symbol, then return to the lobby of the building. Take the left of two lifts at the north end and in the next corridor, you can get a soul sphere along the way. (sector 569)
  9. In the big building at the south end, take the north lift on the east side, then go north and open the northernmost door until you can enter the room behind it. Use the switch at the west side, then return to the lobby of the building. Take the left of two lifts at the north end and in the next corridor, open the door to the north. Head north and get the megaarmor and box of shotgun shells. (sector 598)
  10. In the trap at the southeast end of the map, head to the south alcoves that had barons of Hell (one on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) and press on the middle wall to get a soul sphere. (sector 628)
  11. See Secret #10. This sector is a switch above Secret #10 but is inaccessible. (sector 640)
  12. At the northeast set of buildings, climb the steps, open the door, head west, and open the door going south. Use the computer to reveal a teleporter to the south, which leads to a room with a chaingun. (sector 681)
  13. At the northeast building, climb the steps and get to the rooftop with the mancubus. Look south and shoot a blinking panel in the next room to find a teleporter to it. Flip the switch northeast of the teleporter and re-enter it. Take the north door and use the switch, then head south, drop into the hole, and get the soul sphere. (sector 798)
  14. In the distant room accessed in Secret #13, press on the east panel and head through the west corridor. Use the switch, then the one on the south wall, then go right up to the pedestal that has a soul sphere. Get it to lower the northeast wall, which is the secret. To exit, go on the soul sphere platform again to lower the small lift to the north. Jump to the wall, get the BFG9000, and flip the switch. (sector 866)

  17. At the northeast set of buildings, climb the steps, open the door, and enter the east door. Take the steps down and use the switch, then return to the first room and get the invulnerability. (sector 986)
