MAP04: Dark Tower is the fourth map of Preacher. It was designed by Darch, who also composed the level's music track "Sabbath with Organ 2."

Walkthrough

Essentials

At the start, go forward then turn left and approach the bars to make them lower. Enter the teleporter in front to arrive at a random section of the level. Your goal is to collect the red and yellow keys to unlock the exit. The red key is on the east side of the level, while the yellow key is found in the isolated structure to the north. To reach the red key, make your way to the east of the level to a room with white tiled floor. As you enter it, the walls surrounding it will start to lower, revealing a stairway and a switch.

Flip the switch to lower a lift, letting you access the stairway. Ahead is a dark room containing the red key. To reach the structure with the yellow key, you'll need to enter the titular tower located in a platform to the west, above the lava. Press the switch on the east side of the tower to build a stairway leading to its entrance. Inside you'll find a switch, so use it to raise the bridge connecting the platform to the structure housing the yellow key. Cross the bridge, then turn right and go up the stairs to your right. Finally, turn right again and collect the yellow key. With both keys in your possession, backtrack to the stairway leading to the red key room but this time climb the stairs all the way up. Face right and drop down the hole in front. Follow the path and at some point doors to your left will open. Enter this side room, locate the red and yellow switches then flip them to open a door between them, revealing the exit teleporter.

Secrets

  1. Once in the isolated structure to the north, go to its eastern edge and face north. Drop down carefully to reach a platform holding a supercharge. (sector 524)
  2. After climbing up the stairs leading to the yellow key, use the wall in front to lower the lift. Ride it to the top, then follow the path to the west to reach an invulnerability. (sector 555)
  3. By grabbing the yellow key, you can see through a window that a wall has opened up in front. Make your way to it and open the wall to the right of the red skull (requires the red key) to reveal a passage to a backpack. (sector 772)
  4. Open the wall to the right of the hole leading to the exit for a supercharge. (sector 637)
