MAP05: Barracks of Hell is the fifth map of Insertion. It was designed by Thomas Evans and uses the music track "Hunter's Lair" by David Shaw.

Secrets

  1. In the first big room, the switch lowers the surrounding lifts. Take the two center ones to get a box of rockets in two separate secrets. (sector 42)
  2. See Secret #1. (sector 43)
  3. In the room south of the red key, climb the steps and step on the red lights to lower the northeast corner containing medikits. (sector 511)
  4. In the room north of the red key, climb the steps and step on the red lights to lower the north wall containing a backpack. (sector 513)
  5. On the glowing path leading to the blue key, press on the southeast corner to find stimpacks. (sector 299)
  6. In the hub with blue and yellow doors, take the south path, taking two lifts down. Head west and press the lion switch you come across to open the room behind you with stimpacks. Two side rooms will also open containing rockets and energy cell packs. (sector 503)
  7. Use a wall south of the yellow key to find boxes of rockets, energy cell packs, a BFG9000, and an invulnerability. (sector 583)
  8. Get to the yellow key platform to lower the bridges leading to it. From the steps leading to the middle door, jump to the northern ledge and use the skull switch to get back to the yellow key platform. If you have not picked up the key, do so to open the closet, then enter the teleporter. The area you come to has two secrets and has waves of monsters and supplies. (sector 519)
