Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

EssentialsEdit

This map is divided into two identical halves; you begin in a blood pit in the north-west corner. The map progresses in a similar fashion to Doom II's MAP07: Dead Simple, requiring all mancubi and arachnotrons to be killed to proceed.

The first wave consists of mancubi along with zombiemen, chaingunners, barons of Hell, demons and lost souls. When the mancubi are dead, arachnotrons will spawn in their places, and when they are dead stairs will rise in the smaller rooms in the south-west and north-east, which contain two switches. Triggering them will lower the lava column in the center to reveal the exit teleporter in the center of the map, but will also spawn a wave of cacodemons, pain elementals, arch-viles and other fodder monsters that you have to fight through.

Other points of interestEdit

The buildings in the north-east and south-west corners contain a plasma gun and rocket launcher, while the blood pit in the south-east corner contains a chaingun. After killing the mancubi, stairs in the center of the map will rise allowing you to reach a computer area map, berserk pack, armor and supercharge.

If you leave the playable area for any reason (such as an arch-vile jump), you will be killed by an unseen crusher.

SecretsEdit

  1. In the building at the northeast of the level, the face on the northern panel is that of a gargoyle instead of a satyr. Press it, and the panel will open to reveal a satyr, while a megasphere will appear beneath your feet. (sector 1018) If you are playing with an older ZDoom-based source port, you must open the panel first, and then press the face behind it to get the megasphere.
