MAP08: Oneira is the eighth map of Sunlust. It uses the music track "Dead Sea" from the game Chrono Cross.

Yellow key

In the starting area, all enemies are turned back to you and cannot see you. Head to the right and walk the stairs. You may go to the right and take one or two soul spheres. Turn the second stairs that lead to a stone room where chaingunners are not alerted. This room has two switches, one of them needs blue key to be pressed. Push the other switch here that requires no key. A room to your right will open, and the chaingunners will be alerted (you can easly provoke an infight between imp in the other room and chaingunners). Go to the imps room and push the switch to lower yellow key pedestal. Take the keycard and escape via the revenant's opening where there is one teleporter (the second opening contains secret #1). This will bring you to the starting area.

Blue key

Back in the starting area, go back to the stairs. This time, turn right and use the lift leading to the top (you can collect the second sphere if one remained). Imps in the following room cannot be alerted. If you go straight, two Hell knights will spawn in front of you, plus the imps will attack you. Cleanup this room and enter the consequent area. Go forward and turn left and you will see a mancubus and a revenant. Kill them both and notice two button. The button to the left is required but the right button is recommended, as it lower pedestal with combat armor nearby. The button to the left opens an ambush near the entrance but there is another button. Go there, eliminate revenants and press the mentioned button to build the stairs leading to the wooden floor platform. Go there and turn right into a passageway leading to a room. Take a health bonus on a pad and prepare for a trap. Once you kill the enemies, find the yellow switch and press it to open the next room. Go to that room. The blue key is a the top. Merely walk to the key and take.

Prepare to fight with a cyberdemon and other enemies but your main objective here is just flip the switch guarded by the cyberdemon and leave this room (the barries closed and trapped you in this room once you obtained the key). Once back in the previous room, go right and drop into the familiar room. This time, click the blue switch that required the key. The large wall on front of you will sink down revealing enemies. Despatch them and head to the stairs that were not present before. Turn the switch here to open blue bars. Drop here and head to the lowering bars. Press the switch here and prepare for another fight with enemies. Your objective is to walk to the east of the courtyard and press the switch to lower the barrier. Once the barrier has lowered, enter the room and use the exit portal.

Other points of interest


  1. In the room with the two layers of chaingunners on the north wall (where you get the yellow key) keep fighting enemies and pushing switches until two alcoves containing revenants open. Visit the alcove to the right which has no teleporter. Turn around inside the alcove and you will see a switch to your left inside the wall. Shoot it to open a secret behind you. Kill the arch vile and collect items. (sector 347)
  2. Once you obtain the yellow key, go to the south western courtyard. Keep activating all the switches until you activate the last switch that builds the stairs giving you access to step to the wooden floor. Walk on the stairs to the wooden floor and take the second right to a dead end. If you look carefully, there is a blue button. Press it and step out of the wooden floor. Slay the chaingunners and use the teleporter. This will bring you to the berserk pack (sector 336). Also, prepare for two revenants.
