MAP09: Copper Exuviae is the ninth map of Doomworld Mega Project 2016. It was designed by Darryl Steffen (dobu gabu maru) and uses the music track "Pluvious," originally composed by Brendan Bradley (Bucket) for the Plutonia MIDI Pack.

The level is a spiritual sequel to Iron Exuviae, a level designed by Steffen for NOVA: The Birth. Originally, Steffen had intended to submit Saturnine Chapel to the Doomworld Mega Project, but decided to release it standalone due to the extreme nature of its gameplay.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. Use the satyr switch that reveals the cyberdemon, then go back southeast. The switch also lowers the brown walls to the north and south. Go to the north side and inch to the right to find a megaarmor (green armor on Ultra-Violence or higher). (sector 157)
  2. At the southeast end of the main area is a switch which triggers a lift to the northeast. Go past the switch onto the walkways towards the lift, but look to the right of the lift and hop on the platforms, then onto the one with the megaarmor (or green armor on Ultra-Violence or higher). (sector 1048)
  3. On the walkway north of where the cyberdemon was is a hole leading to a teleporter puzzle. Go past the hole to the dead end and look west. Walk through the wall with the electricity symbol and flip the switch to get a soul sphere (megasphere on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower). (sector 1652)
  4. Run all the way northeast across the lava until you spot a teleporter. In this area, a BFG9000 will be behind two barriers, and these barriers are operated by two switches to the north and south, with both of those switches being on high platforms accessible by using the switch next to the barriers. In order to collect the BFG9000, flip the switch at the base to lower the lifts, then take the northern one. Flip the switch here which will open the first barrier. Drop down, and wait a bit before flipping the lift switch again. When you hear the barrier closing, flip the switch and get under the first barrier, which will cause it to rise again, then quickly head onto the southern lift, ride it up, and flip the switch there. Doing this right and entering before either barrier closes will allow you to get the BFG9000. (sector 3093)
