MAP09: The Shaft is the ninth map of Shallow World. It was designed by Peter Blacha (Shawny) and uses the music track "Ledge" by Stuart Rynn (stewboy). The par time defined in MAPINFO is 8:20.

Walkthrough

Map of The Shaft

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. In the hall south of the big cave, when the walls open up, head to the south room with crates and barrels. Head west and open the wall to get a rocket launcher. (sector 947)
2. Head east from the start and down the steps. Use the south wall without lights to find a blur artifact. (sector 1012)
3. In the southeast of the map, just south of the circle of stairs, find a computer at the east side, with a black candle on it. Use it. Run south, then west, then open the door and go through to the ledge above the stairs. Follow the ledge southwest, go though the next door, then in that room, enter the compartment to the east to get a soul sphere and health bonuses. The compartment also has a candle in front of it. You have about nine seconds. (sector 1071)
4. At the southeast end, enter the green floor and use the east wall to find a box of rockets. (sector 1637)
