MAP10: Candlecove is the tenth map of Valiant. It was designed by Paul DeBruyne (skillsaw) and uses the music track "Fallen Sun," composed by James Paddock (Jimmy). The par time is 9:00.

Candlecove was featured in Doomworld's Top 100 Most Memorable Maps, placing 65th.

Walkthrough

Map of Candlecove

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. At the start, go to the first open area and then southeast and up to a soul sphere. (sector 15)
2. Go to the backside of the altar in the southern part of the map. When you press the skull switch, you teleport above it. Turn right and run between the torches near the south wall to teleport again. Again, turn right and move between the torches on the wall. Turn slightly right towards the bend in the road above blood, and when you move between these two torches, you will teleport into a new room. When you go through the middle part of this room, two spectres and two arch-viles appear on the sides. Press the switch in the left compartment to open a teleporter out of here, as well as the megasphere which is the secret. (sector 601)
