MAP10: Fomalhaut is the tenth map of THT: Threnody. It was designed by Brett Harrell (Mechadon) and uses the music track "Gutter Penny," composed by Gus Knezevich (Alfonzo) for The Realm of Parthoris.

Fomalhaut was featured in Doomworld's Top 100 Most Memorable Maps, placing 96th.

Secrets

  1. Go across the rocks at the start, and as you go northeast into the complex, turn south and go onto the ledge that had all the zombiemen on it. Strafejump west to the next rock, and go west along the rocks until you reach the box of shotgun shells. (sector 327)
  2. Just south of the zombiemen ledge mentioned in the previous secret, you can go into a river of health bonuses. Follow it up to the shotgun shells, then head west to watch the next rock lower, allowing you to get a chainsaw. (sector 369)
  3. You may have noticed a switch while on the river in the previous secret. Climb back to the rocks, then go east from the zombiemen ledge and down to reach the switch. After using it, drop and go west on the upper path to the right of the torch, where a wall is lowering. Hug the wall to reach a soul sphere. (sector 3460)
  4. In the hall to the east of where the yellow keycard is located, go up the steps and look north to see a switch. Shoot it, then run up the steps to the next set of steps that look like a lift. From there, shoot the switch to the south, and the steps you are on will rise. Now, before these steps lower again, shoot at the pink texture to the west, which will open up the wall to the east. Climb the steps here, then attempt to open the next wall, which will reveal a skull switch in the middle of the steps. Pressing that reveals pain elementals (or cacodemons on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) behind you. Another switch is here, press it to finally open that wall, where you can now get a BFG9000.   5. On the far western waterway, at the top of the falls, make a running jump southeast to the rocks, then go south from there all the way until you reach boxes of rockets, an energy cell pack, and a soul sphere. (sector 4794)
  6. Head north from Secret #5, and into the dark waterways. Keep heading north until you see a marble portal to your left. From there, head northeast and press on the waterfall to lower it. You will find a light amplification visor, a green armor, boxes of rockets, and energy cell packs. (sector 4911)
  7. At the northeast end of the map where one of the skull switches to lower the red key is, go west, through the marble ruins, and slightly southwest to the end of the ledge. Jump to the nearby ledge here, then up and east again. Head southeast all the way to the tombstone to find energy cell packs. (sector 4119)
  8. Near Secret #7, head around the marble ruins nearby to find a teleporter, which takes you to a megasphere. (sector 2308)
  9. When you reach the switch to raise the bridge past the red skull door, you will notice a soul sphere behind a cage nearby. To get the soul sphere, look westward to spot a switch far away. Shoot at it to open the nearby wall so you can get the soul sphere. (sector 2744)
