MAP16: Nocturnal Abyss is the sixteenth map of Claustrophobia 1024. It was designed by Mike Brincka (brinks), and uses a MIDI rendition of "Space-Dye Vest" by Dream Theater, sequenced by Rafael and Rodolfo Amoroso Borges, as its music track.

WalkthroughEdit

EssentialsEdit

Open the door and kill the zombiemen, shotgun guys and imp waiting behind it, then climb up the steps at the north end of the room and go through a door at the top. Turn left and head across the bridge to a room with a Hell knight, then stand on the small box and shoot the button recessed into the east wall; this will lower a shelf behind you holding an armor, and open a room on the west side of the bridge containing a chainsaw and a couple more monsters. Go back down the steps to the starting room and collect the blue keycard at the south end of the room, which will temporarily block access to the staircase and cause various monsters to teleport in.

Go back upstairs to the room with the recessed button, then open the blue key door and kill a couple of waiting revenants before heading forward to a walkway. Cross the bridge to a backpack and pull the lever next to it, which will cause cacodemons (and pain elementals on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher) to emerge from the rockface behind you, then go back to the blue door and kill a mancubus that has teleported in before opening the door - a lift directly ahead has opened, allowing you to reach the floor above. Ride the lift up and head across another bridge to get the yellow keycard, turn around and kill the arachnotron that is revealed on the east side of the bridge, then go back to the lever you pulled earlier and open the neighboring door. Turn right and activate a lift, ride it up then throw a switch at the top - this will raise the floor and allow you to reach the exit portal directly ahead, but you will have to kill a knight (or baron of Hell on HMP or higher) that teleports in to block your path.

  1. South-east of the bridge in front of the yellow door, there is a button hidden behind a tree. Shoot this button, then return to the starting area to find that the computer panel in the western wall has lowered to reveal a supercharge. (sector 572)
