EssentialsEdit

Kill the shotgun guy behind you and take the armor it was guarding, then step through the pink portal to find a super shotgun being guarded by a few enemies. Head south to a snowy ledge (the doors will close behind you) and kill the imps and zombies here, then press the gargoyle switch on the north wall to raise some platforms from the lava pit. Step across to the south side of the pit and kill the demons here, then walk round to a plasma gun and use it to kill the imps and shotgun guy that are released from closets on either side. Press the gargoyle switch that is recessed into the south wall and kill the revenants and baron of Hell that teleport in, then head north across a bridge that has risen and open the door at the other end to find two Hell knights guarding another switch. Press this switch to lower the column in front of you and reveal the red skull key.

Kill the cacodemons and lost souls that teleport to the floor below, then drop down to collect the red key. Head north-east through a wall that has lowered, kill the chaingunners and revenants waiting here then go east through the red key door. Kill the imp and zombies waiting in the next room then enter the water and press the face switch recessed into the north-east wall, which will open part of the south wall and reveal a pain elemental guarding another gargoyle switch; some imps will also teleport in. Pressing the gargoyle switch will lower the pillar in the middle of the water holding the blue skull key, but prepare yourself before taking it as four closets will open to reveal revenants and knights - on I'm Too Young To Die and Hey Not Too Rough skill levels two of the revenants will be replaced with imps, and on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare one of the knights will be replaced with an arch-vile.

Enter the south-west closet to find another face switch, which will open a fifth closet to the north containing one or two revenants who are guarding a gargoyle switch that requires the blue key. Press the switch to re-open the red key door and kill the cacodemons waiting behind it, go through then head north and west across some platforms that have risen from the lava to reach a door on the west side. Go through this door then open the blue key door to the north to find one or two revenants guarding a yellow portal. Enter this portal to return to the starting point, then open the blue key door between the exit banners and step through the portal behind it to finish the level.
