MAP17: The Testing Labs is the seventeenth map of Doom Zero. It was designed by Christopher Golden (DASI-I) and uses the music track " ".

Secrets

  1. In the block puzzle room, make your way to the southwest block and flip the switch there, which lowers walls around the southeast block. Go there and flip the switch on the east side which lowers the block, but also lowers the south wall of the northwest block. Get on that wall and ride it up, and you can now jump to the brown section to the west with rockets and a megaarmor. (sector 55)
  2. In the block puzzle room, the northernmost cracked wall is a fake wall. Jump through it (a strafe-run from the southern Chaingunner platform may be needed) to get a plasma gun. (sector 259)
  3. When you reach the area with the red and blue keys, head south and into the southwest corner to find a switch, which raises the lift you used up a bit more. Go back to the lift and take it up to get health bonuses and a computer area map. (sector 115)
  4. When you reach the area with the red and blue keys, head southeast to see a section of the floor rise up, blocking access to this secret. This will also raise a lift to the north. Go back to the lift and use it, but instead of taking it, go back to the southeast area and through to the area that the floor blocked before it rises to find a box of shotgun shells, an energy cell, and a switch that raises a bridge to the switch unlocking the blue key.   5. Open the blue door and go northwest, then south. Cross over to the middle structure and notice the central column of this structure has several pillars on it. The southwest pillar conceals a hidden skull switch. Use that switch, then cross back east to find a soul sphere. (sector 187)
  6. In the same area as above, drop off and open the southeast wall between the floor lamps to find health bonuses and partial invisibility. (sector 191)
  7. At the west side of the map is a lion switch with a candle in front of it. Look east from that switch and press on the gray wall to trigger a lift. Go around the structure where the gray wall is to the east side to get a backpack. (sector 148)
  8. On the walkway above the aforementioned lion switch, you can find a path going further west to a BFG9000. (sector 167)
  9. In the room with the lift leading to the exit, use the switch to lower the lift, then as it rises, jump west to the small ledge. Doing so opens the wall and reveals a megasphere. (sector 242)
