MAP32: Rocket for my Valentine (in Vanilla ports, abbreviated to "R.F.M.V." on the automap) is the second secret map of 1000 Line Community Project. It was designed by Kaito and uses the music track "Voyage" from MAP15: Alchemy of Jenesis.

EssentialsEdit

Throughout this level, watch out for the cyberdemon standing on the middle island; it starts facing away from you, so you can avoid alerting it by not firing your weapons. Take the shotgun and computer area map in front of you then turn right to enter a passage with imps and shotgun guys. Go round the next corner to find two shotgun guys and two revenants next to some yellow and blue skull bars (you will open these later), then open the door at the end of the tunnel and turn left to see one or two mancubi blocking your way into the next room. Continue on to a super shotgun, but be ready to step back as you will be ambushed by shotgun guys and/or chaingunners on either side as well as one or more revenants and pain elementals hiding behind the pentagram wall that lowers in front of you. After clearing the way, go west to find the yellow skull key in front of a teleporter.

The teleporter will send you to a C-shaped passage on the west side of the level - you will see the red skull key in front of you but approach it carefully, as there are imps on the ledge behind the key and four revenants waiting around the corner. Step on another teleporter behind the revenants to reach the north-west corner of the level where some Hell knights are waiting, then head east past another mancubus to reach a ledge north of the cyberdemon's platform (it will now be able to see you if you have not alerted it already); there are one to three mancubi in this area that the cyberdemon can kill for you. Head north into a low chamber with a circular brick wall and go round to the north side of this wall to find a skull switch (which requires the red key to use); pressing it will open the wall and reveal two or three barons of Hell guarding the blue skull key. Watch out for knights and revenants emerging from two alcoves that open to your left and right.

With the blue key, you need to retrace your steps to the colored skull bars on the south side of the level, watching out for a number of monsters that have teleported in - these include revenants in the red key area, and knights and imps in the yellow key area (there will also be an arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher). Back at the colored bars, open both sets of bars to reveal revenants and an arch-vile in front of you (and open an alcove with three more revenants behind you), then step on the teleporter behind the arch-vile to reach the cyberdemon's platform. Immediately run forward to land on a ledge with a supercharge and BFG9000 then drop down the hole in front of you to enter a cave with many revenants, joined by two cyberdemons on HMP and an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare - the cyberdemon on the central platform will also teleport in if it has not been killed already. Hold the enemies off for 30 seconds until the east wall opens, then step into the wall of faces behind it to finish the level.

Other points of interestEdit

A rocket launcher and two boxes of rockets can be found east of the doorway to the blue key chamber.

There are no official secrets on this map.

BugsEdit

Three linedefs with actions assigned to them do not function, as there are no sectors with matching tags:

  • Linedef 383, just east of the exit sign, which has action "W1 Crusher Start with Fast Damage" and tag 16.
  • Linedef 516, inside the control sector at the north side of the level, which has action "WR Teleport (monsters only)" and tag 2. This can make it impossible for ten imps to teleport into the main level.
  • Linedef 685, just past the red key, which has action "W1 Floor Lower to Lowest floor" and tag 25.
