Malcolm Betruger

Dr. Malcolm Betruger is a character from Doom 3, voiced by Philip L. Clarke. He is the head scientist of the UAC on Mars.

At the start of Doom 3, Betruger is being investigated by Councilor Swann for his strange activities. He is a madman obsessed with the occult and Satanism. He steals the Soulcube from the Mars Base and secures it in Hell so that the Marines there have no chance of combatting the forces of Hell, especially its mightiest warrior, the Cyberdemon, who is vulnerable only to the Soulcube's attack.

Dr. Bertruger makes a second appearence in the Doom series merged with the Maledict in Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.

Betruger's name comes from the German word "Betrüger" which means "deceiver".
