The Mechanix Union, frequently abbreviated as MXU, is a Doom mapping group primarily for Zandronum. It was born out of the late clan Machine Shop in late 2010, with a formal date of conception on February 14 2011. MXU primarily makes multiplayer mapsets and mods. Maps made by its members have been featured in major compilation sets such as Duel40, the IDL and WDL CTF packs, multiple 32-in-24 contributions, as well as featured in various tournament games and community events. MXU is a loose-knit group, with members coming and going throughout the years. Thus members are not listed here, only the leaders who have been consistent since the beginning. MXU's mapset "Velocity CTF" in 2012 prompted the Cacowards to have multiple Multiplayer Awards, after a tight race between it and Who Dun It, the Multiplayer Award winner of 2012. After this, MXU's works have been a regular feature on the multiplayer awards page.
