Microsoft is an American software and computer hardware company. Microsoft's disk operating system MS-DOS was the original target for all Doom engine games, followed by Windows for Doom 3 engine games. On September 21, 2020, id Software parent company ZeniMax Media was acquired in its entirety by Microsoft for a sum of US $7.5 billion.[1] This purchase granted ownership of the Doom series and other id Software brands to Microsoft.
