NAKU-NARU is a Cacoward-winning gameplay mod released by NakuTeam (Joblez, NekoMancer, ヤムイモ and Khan) in 2019 that changes the weapons in Doom to various Japanese small arms from the 20th century.
Weapons[edit]
- Fists are replaced by a crescent staff, which can also be used as a secondary fire on the Miroku and PM-9.
- The chainsaw is replaced with the Arisaka Type 99, which can also be used to perform a banzai charge.
- The pistol is replaced with the Miroku Police .38 Special revolver.
- The shotgun is replaced with the Chiappa Model 1887 Shotgun, which also retains a melee bash for secondary fire.
- The super shotgun is replaced with the Stoeger 12 Gauge Shotgun.
- The chaingun is replaced with the Minebea PM-9.
- The rocket launcher is replaced with the Carl Gustav M2.
- The plasma rifle is replaced with the Nambu Type 99, or the Howa Type 89 (this can be toggled in options).
- The BFG9000 is replaced with Yorick, a throwable skull that is powerful enough to kill any enemy in the game in a single hit.
