NaNoWADMo is an annual Doom mapping activity. It was started by scwiba in 2018. it is modeled after NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), where writers (amateur and professional) attempt to create a 50,000+ word manuscript during the month of November. NaNoWADMo is a similar basic concept: Create a wad "from scratch" in 30 days. Rough ideas and gathering of resources in advance is allowed, but the maps must be new from day one. Like NaNoWriMo, it is a self-imposed challenge, without any formal judging, winners, or losers. Unlike NaNoWriMo, NaNoWADMo has been mostly held in October so far.
